Step-By-step Approach to Getting Started.

In this very chapter, I’ll be showing you step by step everything you need to get started in Affiliate marketing. This is will be a complete Affiliate marketing course that will help you to really understand the industry no matter your level in online marketing; and it doesn’t really matter if you’re a complete Newbie.

So, now that you already know how to set up and manage your WordPress blog professionally, the next thing you’re going to learn is how to gain practical of how best to niche down your blog, selecting relevant and lucrative keywords; not forgetting your affiliate offers. These are basically some of the major stuffs that you need to build a successful affiliate marketing business.

The first we’ll be looking at in this training is: how to find a profitable niche. This should your very first line of action is you really want to build a successful affiliate marketing works. You must understand how to pick your niches, how to narrow them down and how lucrative or less lucrative some niches are.

You must also learn how to select niches that are relevant to what you intend to do. This is the very point where a lot people miss it; but if you’re able to beat this point, then you’re on your way to building a really amazing and highly rewarding business for yourself.

The sad reality is this: Most people just wake up out of the blue and jump into Affiliate marketing without the requisite knowledge necessary for them to build an amazing career in it. Things don’t just work that way!

Finding your Niche:

You niches to do an in-depth research on “Niches” in general. This is because some niches are highly saturated and very difficult for newbies most especially to rank (that is if they ever will).

This is the very first place to start your Affiliate marketing journey.

Before we proceed with this, we first of all need to find a niche that will profitable and not fully saturated with too many other people trying to do the same thing.

There are several sites that you can use for this which I earlier specified in this ebook. But for the purpose of this training, I’ll be focus on my personal keyword finder of choice which is: www.kwfinder.com or simply known as “Keyword Finder”. This is my favourite online resource for finding keywords. It has a paid and free-version (but I’ll advise you to start with the free version first to learn your way around the platform before you decide on what do.

With the free service, you’re limited to only 5 searches per day but with those 5 searches, you’ll be able to get more than enough results for what you’re searching for.

Process:

#1. Go to your Google Chrome browser:

Assuming you have not created an account before now, the search will lead you to this next screen where you can either create your free account or a paid one.

So, go ahead, create your account and sign into your account.

The next thing we’re going to do is to fill up the search bar with a niche that is not fully saturated and will be easy enough to rank in.

Remember… “The riches are in the niches”.

For example, you’ll be shooting yourself on the foot by making an Affiliate marketing website about Health & Fitness, Wristwatches, Education, Relationship, Hats, or any of those other broad niches because these are way too general for anyone to create a market around them.

So you might want to consider want to pick of any of the broad niches are break them down. Actually you need to narrow down the broad niches to a point where they become highly specific.

For example, instead of setting up a blog on education, it’s better you go for a site with a primary objective of catering to a specific kind of people (audience) for who they’re hoping to reach. Now look at this: Instead of Education, go for Education for the blind in West Africa. Instead of Eye Glasses, go for “Fashion eye glasses for beach parties”. That way you can narrow down any niche to actually fit into your own personal purpose.

Now, when you enter the search, then result might now really be that massive but then it’s ok because it simply means you don’t have a strong competition and can rank easily on it with a little work.

So let me type in something like “Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties”. Leave the location as anywhere because I’m sure you’ll like to get sales from anywhere in the world; not just from your home country.

You’ll also need to change the language to English because that is your primary means of communication; so it doesn’t really make any sense to market to people who lack the ability to comprehend what you’re trying to say simply because of language barrier.

This are results from a single search. You can scroll down to the point where they begin to blur things out simply because you’re on a free plan.

The best thing about this company is that they give you SEO rating for ranking as seen above.

As seen above, any of the search results that falls below 30 is ideal for you to create a niche on. See image below:

From the screenshot above, you can see that the ones in Green (between 0-14) are very easy for you to rank in. The ones in Lemon Green (between 15-29) are also still easy and very ideal to rank in.  Whereas the numbers in yellow (between 30-49) are possible but not good; and the numbers in Orange (between 50-69) are hard. As for the Red, both of them should a “No! No!! for you. Don’t try it.

Basically, any number below “30” is not good enough for you.

So, since Green and Lemon Green are below 30, that means we can go with “Fashion Glasses for Beach Parties” as your niche.

Now, that you’ve selected your niche, you need to search for relevant words with which you can develop your site content and rank for as well.

So, let’s look at that.

Finding your Keyword:

Immediately after identifying your niche, the next thing is to find the right keywords that you’ll be using to help you rank in your chosen niche.

So, find below some of the keywords that I have saved to help me rank in the chosen niche.

  • Cheap
  • Top
  • Best
  • Top rated
  • Review
  • Vs
  • Alternative

These are the best keyword that work any time, any day for Affiliate marketing. So the above specified are keywords and the type of content that you need to be creating for your website/ blog.

When properly implemented, this will help you find the right traffic for your blog.

With the right keywords + lucrative niche, you’ll be able to find people online before they make their buying purchase. However, if the people are finding you after making their purchases, then the purpose of setting up your Affiliate marketing must have been defeated.

What’s more important is that the above mentioned keywords are keywords with “Intent” which simply means that the majority of the people searching for those keywords are ready to make purchases and are only researching to find the best items.

So typically, these are the keywords that we’ll be using for this training.

As seen in the image above, you can scroll down below to check for keywords below 23 or slightly above 23. Remember to avoid the Reds.

This is a further example to finding the right niches for your Affiliate marketing business. For example: Instead of going for “Wristwatches”, you can go for “Led “Wristwatches”. Instead of going for “Jackets”, you can go for “Kids leather Jackets”.

So, the next thing you need to do is to start adding your keywords to the particular niche that you’ve selected.

For example:

  • Cheap + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties
  • Top + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties
  • Best + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties
  • Top rated + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties
  • Review + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties
  • Vs + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties
  • Alternative + Fashion eye-glasses for beach parties

You know like: Alternative Fashion Eye-Glasses For Beach Parties. So you can do a review using top rated or top brands. Pick the search results that fall below the SEO ranking for best result. You can try out as much keywords and niches to be sure you have the best to work with.

Be sure to pay attention to the month search volume. Look up the sky blue strip where you have: Keywords, Trend, Search, CPC, PPC, KD. Then focus on the one labeled “Search” and look at the values below. If the search volumes appear way too high, then your chances of surviving in that niche is highly predictable.

However, with a well narrowed niche, if you can get up 500 search volume per month or up (which is think is very decent), then you’ll be able to have a steady flow of traffic. Using these techniques, you’ll be able to rank on search engines without having to pay from traffic.

This means that over 500 people will naturally and potentially  see your Affiliate products, go right straight to it and make their purchases without  any hurdles. But whatever you do, make sure that your search volume is not below 500.

So two major things you always need to look out for:

Keywords: Find how easily you can rank it with the keywords using the SEO number provided below and also how to determine the volume of traffic it has.

So the only reasonable metrics that you need are just the SEO rank and monthly traffic. You can repeat the entire process till you’re very sure you’ve got what you need in terms of the right niche and keywords.

Finding your Affiliate offers:

Immediately you figure out the two most important aspects of your affiliate marketing (finding your Niche + Keywords), then we’ll move right in to finding your Affiliate offers.

This point, I’ll recommend that you start your Affiliate marketing on Amazon Associates.

But before then, what is amazon.com?

According tp NASDAQ, amazon.com is no doubt one of the world’s most famous online marketplaces. The company also offers opportunity to some small business owners like you and I (especially online marketers) through its well-known “Amazon Affiliate Program”.

Why would anybody who is interested in creating a business for themselves using Affiliate marketing start with Amazon Affiliates?

Why Amazon Affiliate:

This is majorly due to that fact that it’s about the most reliable platform on the internet. Secondly, it is owned by amazon.com. Thirdly, it’s the biggest Affiliate program in the world; and it’s not surprising that it is because it’s owned by amazon.com

As far as Affiliate programs are concerned in this world, the Amazon Affiliate Program cannot be surpassed (at least not for now) by any other program; in terms of access and sheer size.

According to business report from “Business Insider”. Amazon’s valuation of $356 Billion is larger than Wal-Mart, Target, Macy’s, Best Buy, Kphl’s, Sears and JCPenney combined!

So basically, there are certain kind of offers that you should never promote in Affiliate marketing, there are certain niches  that you should never jump into and there are certain keywords that can do more harm to your business than good.

These are some of the very key knowledge that you need to acquire if you want to really build a highly profitable Affiliate marketing business. I believe your mind is ready and set to contain what I’m about to show you now. It’s the success secret behind most top Affiliate marketers in the industry.

Before you apply (as a matter of fact, you have to send in your application) for Amazon Affiliate Marketing, I would like to understand first of all that they don’t accept everyone. Secondly, if you don’t have a website, they will not take you.

For this very reason, it’s highly crucial that you build you personal, free-hosted website with your domain on it even you have no content on it. Amazon only wants to be sure that you’re serious and will be promoting the site. However, the application is 100% free, straight-forward and requires just a couple of days for you to get accepted into the program.

The form looks long, but it very easy to fill out. Just add your personal details in this section. This will be your official profile, so please make sure all information is correct.

You will then be required to add your website details. Of course, most affiliate programs, if not all, are interested in how much traffic you get. So, it’s normal.

Next step, fill in your profile. This will include things like your preferred store ID, how you build links, how you drive traffic to your website, among other things.
